About Kittredge, Colorado -  View properties available in Kittredge

Since 1920 the town of Kittredge, Colorado has grown into a prosperous community. The town was founded by Charles Marbel Kittredge, the former superintendent of the United States Mint in Denver. Mr. Kittredge began planning the first subdivision in the area in 1917 before Kittredge was a town. The subdivision was called Sunridge and the first lot was sold to Mr. Mason Welch.

A residential area along Troublesome Gulch west of Kittredge was growing at the beginning of the town’s history. Some lavish homes were built along the gulch, as were farms and ranches. However, residential growth is limited in this town because the terrain along its main thoroughfare, Colorado Highway 74, limits expansion.

Today, Kittredge offers a mix of duplexes and single family homes in a typical mountain community environment close to Denver. The Kittredge Town Park provides a great place for children to play and the main street is home to retail shops and services.
